Several bird hunting videos on YouTube with footage apparently shot from drones.

I'm not sure what all the rules are, but in Iowa, we can't use them to check crops at all or use them for business related purposes without a special permit.

They have no place in hunting, for anything

Using them in hunting would likely violate the hunting "methods" provisions in hunting laws and regulations.

In Michigan they are drafting laws to prohibit the use of drones for hunting as well as using them to harass hunters as ASPCA is sell/marketing a drone to use to "monitor" hunter activities. Will be interesting to see the language and see just how restricted the use of drones will be. I can see them being used for filming and or research purposes rather than using an airplane or helicopter.

Could use the drone to circle over top with a hawk screech, might keep birds from running to much.............

I agree 100%!!!!

I have to agree with that and a step further. I don't think cameras should be on private drones period.
I have a neighbor who has cameras on his house. He likes to show me pictures from his camera. My living room window is as clear as day. He's a good guy and it doesn't bother me much,, but if I didn't,,ooo:mad:
Oh yeah and he has a drone..

I have seen some of the hunting videos that use drones and was not impressed. For one thing they look down on the field and it is hard to see the pheasants in flight because of the dark background. When they use the go pro cameras the flying pheasant is seen with blue sky background which makes seeing them easier. The drones do however give a good view of how a field is being hunted.

Had not thought about hunting. I did see one in use on deepsea fishing and the video was assume. Marlin was the subject.
Re hunting, filming only.
