Heading to western Kansas this afternoon for my once-a-year dove hunt. I wrap in bacon the breast filets with a wedge of apple alongside; bake till the bacon is crispy. Delicious.

After working today, my neighbors and I helped a dairy farmer reduce his pigeon population this evening. We got 9 pigeons and 3 doves.
Tomorrow morning we are hunting a grain field for doves.

Had a first this morning. I shot a Canada goose with a 16 gauge 5/8oz #7 steel reload while dove hunting.

We had to cut it a little early so I could get home with my daughter coming to town and so the guys could get back to Oklahoma. We ended up with 27 today.

Our group had a great shoot in SW Kansas Awesome dog work as well We shot 380 in 5 1/2 hours on opening day Consisted of both eurasions and morning doves and finished off Mon with another 97 Hunted with 5 labs Lost very few birds Hunted the eurasions in a milo field Could never have found the birds without them
