Dove reports

I talked to a friend who went to the Rocky Ford Wildlife area on the opener, 3 of them harvested 7 birds, about all they saw they said, I was going to go on Tuesday but may have to rethink it. Considered the Pueblo wildlife area but again not to sure about there either. :(
 
Went up to Snyder CO on Saterday AM. The Dove were flying, far more Dove then I had ammo, as I found with most of the others I talked to. I've got to work on my shooting. 1 box of 20ga, only took 5 birds. ack

That is better then the average!!

We shot 12 last night and only 6 this morning, and it was the Doves fault!!:p
And just one hundred yards from my house:p
 
The whole group I was in limited out on saturday, and I had a 4 on sunday morning. I didn't go out sunday evening but I am going to guess the group i was with all hit their limits sunday evening, they were hunting a cattle pond on private land. attached is a pic of my and the dog after hunting saturday night. Only had 6 that night but got the rest of my limit earlier that day. We hunted out east of sterling.

Were you huntin public?
 
We hunted one piece of public ground on that sunday after opening day. Thats where i only got 3 birds. hoping the east is getting all of this rain and some ponds and ditches fill back up. Thats where we saw and shot most of the birds was around water.
 
A few

Went to a friends land yesterday (outside of Hugo). The weather was cold and rainy. We shot 15 doves and we had to work. The cold front may drive them south. We did have a great time.
 
Went out dove hunting in south east corner of the state on Friday. Still a few hanging around after the cold front but nothing like opening day.
