dog sprained ankle?

I'm starting to push my dogs harder since we will be hunting in a couple weeks and it looks like one of them has a sprained ankle. It swelled up just above joint. Has anyone seen this before and if so what did you do? Ice it, let the dog rest all of the above? I will be in SD in a couple weeks and just started to push my dogs a little harder (6-8 miles vs. 3-4) and they seem to be taking it a little rough. I guess I should have started this sooner. I feel bad her leg is swelled up, darn labs need to know when to quit. Any advice to help her heel up. Thanks

Wrap and an anti inflamatory , Rymidel most likely. Just make sure it is not a seed or stick. I had that happen too and I got the same response. Sprain will be fine after a few days rest. Then just go for walks till hunting season. But still ask a vet. I am a carpenter. LOL :)
