first cold and snow to hit, back to the walk in and hunting will return...that should be sometime during the second week of Dec. i hope......

hopefully, it won't be too much longer, i refer to the first winter day as the
2nd season opener...birds holding in snow filled fields is the best dog work you can ever hope for.....beautiful rock solid points and flushes against the snowy background are great! don't forget the camera!

I scheduled some time off for that w/e b/c I was hopeful that's when our first snow would come. As much as I hate to be out during rifle season, it seems to always snow during that week.

It does snow every deer season and then melts before I get out. I am looking at going the second weekend of rifle season and I like you hate to hunt during the deer season. Everyone road hunting, I just go to really small areas close to the road so there is no mistaking the orange snowman walking thru the fields.
