I've been cutting hay today. Two fields are ones I don't take any off until the last of July, one will be the second cutting.
The first field of ten acres I saw four broods, maybe five, couldn't tell for sure. Anywhere from just flying to having the roosters starting to color. Never have I seen that field with so many. Lots of grasshoppers and the radiator screens on the tractor are covered with little bugs of all sorts.
The second and third fields I will cut this afternoon, more reports later.
