Seventy-seven percent of the corn is planted, behind last year’s estimate of 79 percent as well as the five-year average of 84 percent. Substantial progress was made for planting of soybeans, now at 34 percent planted, up 25 percentage points from last week, but behind the five-year average of 42 percent. Ninety-six percent of the spring wheat has been planted, behind the of the five-year average of 99 percent. Eighty-four percent of the spring wheat is emerged. Ninety percent of the oats has been planted, behind the five-year average of 98 percent. Seventy-six percent of oats are emerged, behind last year’s estimate of 77 percent as well as the five-year average of 87 percent. Winter wheat in the boot stage is reported at 48 percent, up 20 percentage points from last year
