Haven't seen to many broods. Looks like we'll be down.

That sucks, but I am still hopeful down there. It seems in NC IA, where I grew up we never see many chicks. But when the corn comes out you are floored by the numbers. The people in that area for whatever reason have been leaving the corn stalks in through winter too. I think that has helped as well. Literally thousands of no till acres around. Only fall will tell I guess. It was an ugly winter down there. Have to keep the figures crossed.

hoping count will be ok. seeing broods on roads early in morning on heavy dew days. remember one year dnr said very few birds in area. was a dry year with no morning dews to bring birds up on roads. count was WAY OFF. had great hunting that fall. seeing lots of turkey broods. hope pheasants did well also
