I’m between chamberlain and Mitchell and I think it’s safe to say 75% plus of the corn out of the fields. Lots of combining last two days and see more cut corn fields than none cut fields.
Its getting close now. 2 weeks away for sure. Any luck around Bon Homme?I was out and about a good bit this past weekend in Hutchinson, Yankton, Bon Homme, and Turner counties. I'd say in that area the corn is about 80% harvested. Looking at the forecast for this week, I'm guessing the rest will be gone very soon.
I usually don't hunt that far south, but decided to check it out some this year. Definitely more birds west and north of there, but I've seen decent numbers down there. Lots of public, but quite a few WIA's with crops but no cover. Its getting close now. 2 weeks away for sure. Any luck around Bon Homme?
Let me know if you get around here again. I could share a few pins or show you. Living in and around dieing towns isnt something I enjoy.I usually don't hunt that far south, but decided to check it out some this year. Thanks, I'll take you up on that. I'll be down that way again for sure.Let me know if you get around here again. I could share a few pins or show you. Living in and around dieing towns isnt something I enjoy.
planting was somewhat late and moisture is all over the place anywhere from 14% to 21% on the farm we hunt.Really interesting to hear that hand and Hyde only at 25% harvested.
I love seeing them running at night with those massive headlights running in tandem with a tractor and grain cart.Where we are there is vast areas with 70% still standing. Combines are running but not full out. I am guessing late season is gonna be really good!!
