The opener is pretty crazy. You do get your fair share of (how do I put it nicely) idiots that day. You can expect a truck in just about all of the really good WIA fields. There will be plenty of spots that open up and fields available. Just don't get too discouraged. The birds do fly back in them. I have been in fields with three of us and we had a group of about 8-9 walk through on top of us. So now I try to go with larger groups on opening day since they won't walk on top of you when they are outnumbered. But this year it looks like only four of us are going now. I see that you are in Longmont. I am not far from you. My good friend/hunting buddy lives in Longmont. Maybe you will see us up there. I will be in a white Suburban with my two dogs. PM me for details on where abouts we will be if you want to get in a field with us.
For the most part it is still really fun if you can get past all that. It defintely gets better after opening day. Also once the cold weather sets in the fair weather guys are gone. That is when i like it the most .
