Clouds of pheasants!

And unfortunately, I couldn't get too close to many!

The C-O-L-D weather had the birds bunched, and the crunchy snow made it impossible for Gunner and me to sneak up on them. My 40 acre piece of blue stem yielded 15+ roosters and 60+ hens. Three major waves of birds flushed wild, each with well over 20 birds. It was a great sight to see!

Gunner and I did manage to pin about a dozen holdovers, two young roosters making the bag.

Hoping to next get out on Thursday, but see continuing cold temps with the added bonus of WIND. Ugh.

Congrats... there are still a few good groups up this way as well... I was planning on a hunt today but my pooch needed a few days more off to heal up her pads after a couple days this weekend. We'll get another hunt in before the season closes.
btw... I don't know if you've noticed, but there's a little something in your eyebrows! ;) Nice pics... where's the pooch?

Yes . . . the face mask is a necessity for me in these cold temps (especially with wind), but a side affect is the moisture that raises and freezes to my eyebrows! :)

I think by this time Gunner was in the cab of the truck. He too was C-O-L-D so I let him in with me as opposed to riding in the dog box. We had the heater cranked so high, for so long, he was panting in rather short order.
