Be careful of any pond. Blue-green algae lurks in more places than one may expect.

That is one of the reasons I don't come down until there has been some frost, that and snakes.

I used to train my dogs once or twice a week in the summer. It was with a bird dog club. Dog ran for maybe 5 minutes to a set up quail planted in a trap. Point - whoa - flush. Quail - yes ... Pigeons - yuck. I found it to be marginally effective over the long haul, but hey if I was a professional trainer charging money and earning a living ... you gotta do something.
