Shot my first five-station in Hugo this morning. Going to need to buy more shells... On the other hand, it was good practice, after a fashion. Just have to figure out how to get the birds to jump when I yell ``pull.''

at bald eagle? great guys, best prices around. my son works at another gun club in the area, (that charges 2x as much per round) and likes the 5 stand better at bald eagle. pm me if you want to go shoot some time.

It was at Bald Eagle and we had a great time. Very welcoming atmosphere and none of that judgmental B.S. you sometimes get when a bunch of range rats wander over to check out the shooting. Been there, hated that. These guys were real open and funny and if they could out-shoot me off-handed and in the dark (which they probably could) they didn't let on. Just a good relaxing time.

But next time I'm going to take a closer look at the shells I toss in the bag. There were some hot loads mixed in with the low base 8s I was chucking out there. Kent Fast Lead, if I recall. Ouch.

I stopped into Bald Eagle Saturday. I have never shot in a club setting, so I was not sure what to expect. But just like your experience, they were very welcoming and helpful. I shot trap and then, since it was slow, the guy on range duty showed me around and explained the 5 station and skeet ranges to me. He said they have to work 8 hours a year as part of the membership, so you would probably run into different people every time out, but I will definitely go back. I am even considering trying a trap league at some point. For the trap round it was $6 per round. They said for members it was only $1, with your $75 annual membership and $100 one time joining fee.

Man am I glad I checked out this thread. This is about 12 miles from my house. I've been trying to join the Osceola rod and gun club but they have terrible hours. I took a look at their website. Having to be sponsored by a existing member jumped out at me. Maybe a stop in as a non member I could talk one of the guys helping out to sponsor me. Dues seem very reasonable.

After seeing this thread I headed over there last night. As the OP wrote things were great. Picked up my application and am going to join
