Chukar

Try the Book Cliffs around Grand Junction. Call the DOW up there and ask around, they will give ideas as well!!! Good luck and tell us how you did!!

I found a few in the VERY FAR southeastern corner as well! On the Comanche National Grasslands too!

When I was a kid, had a relative who was stationed at Rocky mountain Arsenal, near Commerce City, lived on officers row, i chased jackrabbits and chukars by the zillions out there! Now this was in the late 60's early 70's, it's all probably a parking lot, or EPA hazardous material site today. But in those days the sagebrush flats were covered with chukar. Later in life, I hunted the Black Canyon of the Gunnison for chukar, not for the faint hearted. never wanted to shoot one bad enough to go back!
