I have gotten about $550 in gift cards from Gander mountain. I am looking at buying another shotgun.

I am wanting another semi-auto, maybe a double barrel. First I was looking at the new mossberg semi-auto in 20 ga. Now I am not sure I would use a 20 ga very much. This gun would be used for duck, geese, and as a back up on upland trips.

Now I am considering the following in 12 ga.

Stoeger 2000

Mossberg 930 or 935

Oh also I would like a gun that either has a thumb safety or a safety that is behind the trigger(back of trigger guard). My browning is behind, and my benelli is in front, I have problems getting to the safety on my benelli.

Any input or other suggestions would be great.

What Benelli do you have that the safety is in front of the trigger ? Most of the Benelli's are behind it.

I have a Stoeger 2000 12 ga. that I've had for years. Never had a problem with it. I bought it as a turkey gun and backup upland gun. Ended up using it more than I thought. I also have a couple of friends that have the 2000 and use it as thier primary gun and had zero problems. The Stoeger's safety if behind the trigger. I think they are good guns for the money.

The Benelli Nova, Supernova, and vinci all have the safety in front.

My nova is a good gun for turkey, I just dont get to the safety fast enough for upland, duck and goose.

Thanks for the input

Semiauto rec's

I have a Beretta, my son has a Franchi. 12 ga. Both made by Benelli (I think). Both nice medium $$ guns. Very dependable. Franchi is light weight.

Went Wednesday to buy, got a stoeger 2000, I think I am going to be happy with it if i ever get it home. Drove an hour on wednesday to take care of paperwork, went back today to pick up the gun after the 24 hour waiting period and the peckerheads at Gander Mountain were closed for new years eve. I start my hootowl shift tomarrow night, so I guess I will have to wait until next week.
