Champ's first outing

The boys were done their homework and with slightly warmer temps I decided to take all the boys in the house for a walk. I loaded up Nittany, Blitz, Champ, Connor and Carson to head down to the local grounds. I parked in a different area to avoid the gun range. Champ got to run on the mowed paths and get introduced to all sorts of new smells and other wonderful things. He saw some horses and different cover. It wasn't a training sessions but more of a chance to have some fun. We saw a good numbers of pheasants flush and hundreds of geese fly over. Champ enjoyed the short time out in the field. He came home to eat and then slept on the couch. Here are some pictures:

I made sure to keep him back from Nittany and Blitz when they were on point. I don't want him being close of a flushing pheasant this young. Champ did like smelling the areas the birds flushed from.

Go get em Champ! Can you remember Nittany and Blitz first time out?

I do remember the early outings for each dog. Nittany's was when he was a little older since I was just learning on how to do things. The planting of birds the first time wasn't too easy for me. When I worked Blitz early on, I had Connor to cheer me on. I have a video of him saying "Go, Daddy go" when I went in to flush a bird and shoot it for Blitz. Hard to believe that was 6 years ago.

Great pics! I love the pic of Champ standing back and watching Blitz and Nittany. Looks like he is observing and taking in everything they are doing!
