Well, we found the snow. Got there Wednesday nite, ready to hunt Thursday. Forecast said we should have one good day before the storm. Wrong! Thursday morning it was snowing, 4 degrees, 30 mph wind. Tough hunting. We stuck it out through the storm and hunted a little every day. Got some birds here and there, and some frostbit ears. Over 12 inches before it was done with drifts up to two to three feet in spots. Tough walking! On Saturday evening, when the storm was mostly done, we saw hundreds and hundreds of birds out feeding in the evening. Unbelievabe site! We stopped the truck for 10 minutes and just watched! Of course that was on private land so no shooting, but what an experience! Sunday, after the storm, was great! Got a limit out of the cattails (on public) and headed for home! I sure love South Dakota! Can't wait for next year!
