Carlsons 12ga Prairie Storm for Beretta Does NOT work for a A400 XPLOR Light

I just purchased a Carson's 12ga Prairie Storm Late for my Beretta A400 XPLOR Light. It does not fit. When I called Carlson they told me that the Optima HP chokes are "junk" and they would not make a Prairie Storm choke for the gun. They cited that the Optima HP chokes are too thin and they have had "numerous" complaints. Obviously, I was disappointed with the comments made by Carlson.

Has anyone had Optima HP issues with their A400 XPLOR Light?

I don't have the answer to your question. I will just say that I have been mystified as to why Beretta thinks it needs 4 (count em) 4 separate choke systems, of which none are interchangeable. It behooves me as to why they want to add more confusion upon confusion to the general public. Stick with one proven choke system and all is solved.

- Mobil choke (older models and current 3901)
- Optima chokes (current competition guns)
- Optima Plus (current field guns)
- Optima HP (A400 series)

other than that

I am curious how you like the A400 other than the choke system? I have been thinking about buying one.

A400

I actually love the A400 XPLOR Light (28"). I own a A391 Urika 2, a Lanber 2097 SL (28" O/U) and a Smith & Wesson Silver Elite ( 26" O/U). I almost always the A400 into the field because I usually hit what I aim at and it NEVER jams. It is also very light so my arms are not dead 3 hours into the hunt. I love the shotgun and suggest you evaluate it.
