Hello Everyone! My name is Megan, and I'm relatively new to pheasant hunting, having only started last fall. I hail from the "Picture Province", New Brunswick, where we do not have a true wild population of pheasants. I was brought up hunting ruffed grouse, and truly enjoy upland hunting. Last spring I discovered a pheasant preserve, and booked a hunt for three days in September. I had so much fun that I had the owner squeeze me in for another hunt in early November. On their property, they also have a skeet course and trap house, so I spent a lot of the summer shooting clays to break myself in slowly to wing shooting. The camaraderie I've discovered since starting hunting pheasants is amazing. I've made some great friends and have learned a few things from some really accomplished marksmen.
I also hunt whitetails in the big woods up here. I have yet to connect with a big buck, but I've had some good encounters.
I love everything outdoors. Hiking, snowshoeing, ATVing, fishing, hunting - you name it. I'm an active volunteer with our local Ground Search and Rescue Team with plans to become a paramedic in the near future.
Happy Hunting!
