Can You Help Me ?

I'm a police officer here in Indiana, and like so many others, I'm looking to make a trip out to Kansas this year.

I'll most likely be hunting by myself, and its unlikely I'll have a dog with me. Can you point me in the right direction to get in some decent foot hunting in Kansas ? I'm assuming my best bets, and possibly my only options are going to be public land hunting.

If you'd prefer to eMail me privately, my eMail is Fred@FredMcIntire.Com .

Any information that you can provide is GREATLY APPRECIATED !!

Fred

Kansas will be real tough this year, drought was extensive, NC and NW will be the best areas, but hunter concentration will be heavy in those areas...
I would go to SD or ND if I were you and skip Kansas this season.

There's plenty of public land in the walk-in program. Some hunters are using Google Earth to scout. The KDWPT website has GPS coordinates. Good luck.

i would agree. If i was to make a trip by myself with no dog it would be to south dakota after the first few weeks of the season. The birds will settle down a little and walking the ditches is legal and the best bet for a single, dogless hunter. Walking wiha in kansas will be far less productive.

when were you thinking of coming out, for how long, and what are your expectations- beautifull country- tons of WIHA-
