My little field golden flushed and retrieved his 200th career pheasant this weekend. 108 of those in the not so great pheasant state of WI and 92 in SD.

I always told my wife it’d be neat to get to 250 over him; and as long as he stays healthy into the tail end of his career I don’t see any reason we shouldn’t hit that. I’ve studded him out twice and they’ve all been great hunters so I’m thinking next time I’ll have to take one (turns 8 in January).

He wouldn’t pass a field trial and more often than not he’d rather bring me the pheasant some of the way instead of all of it, but man am I having fun hunting with him. Just a little more gray in both our beards now.
