I am considering a new or used 20 sxs, probably this spring. Probably needs to be under 3k to keep things tolerable with the wife. Here's my criteria.
under 6 lbs.
26'' to 24'' tubes
would like choke tubes but not a deal breaker
That doesn't sound too hard to find but haven't seen to many yet.
Uggies and Ithaca skb's are at the top of my list so far.
Suggestions appreciated.
 
I would look at winchester 23 or browning bss. I have a 12 ga browning bss and really like it, don't shoot it much as it is a bit have and it is fixed choke.

You might be able to find a nice vintage fox or lc, they would be choked of course but good guns.
 
I love Uggies and AYA doubles…an AYA 4/53 would get my vote, love mine…as time goes on I appreciate the simplicity of fixed chokes…love Skt1/Skt2 for my upland guns…or, IC/M…my guns with tubes don’t get changed much…good luck in your search! Michael Murphy and Sons has been bringing in used Uggies over the past year in large quantities…
 
Cabela’s Louisville has a very nice Uggie currently for $2500, but 27” barrels….ANIB. AYA’s #3 and #4 are very good boxlock’s as well. Seems prices have softened a lot in the past year or two…non-tox requirements in Europe perhaps? I don’t know as much about SKB, but they’re held in high regard, like BSS’s are…check out Miroku, they made lots of Browning guns, BSS’s included…I believe Cabela’s will ship to a store near you for $25….
