Go to the Pheasants Forever web site http://pheasantsforever.org/ and at the top of the home page click on the Blog link. Scroll down to an article by Jack Hennessy entitled "Bird Dog Flip Flop". Both Miforester and myself were interviewed for this article and quoted in it.
Before owning a dog of my own, for years I thought I'd want a Brittany. Then I switched to wanting a Weimaraner because I knew a couple & thought they were cool. Then my best buddy got a springer about 25 years ago. I've never once, since then, wanted anything different. I'm on my second, am extremely biased toward them (albeit a little tongue-in-cheek), and don't envision myself ever without a springer. That said, since I never plan to switch, I predict my death will come from a coronary resulting from trying to keep within range.
