Beretta's New A400 Xplor Unico

For all ya Beretta lovers. It sure didn't take Beretta long to introduce a new Autoloader. The Urika 2 hasn't been out that long and now comes the Xplor Unico, which from a brief look seems to combine the best of the Urika 2 and the Xtrema 2 in one.

Cabelas claims to be the first retailer to carry them. Available June of 2010.

Not as ugly looking as early pictures showed it to be. Not a bad looking gun and better than what browning and benelli have been putting out lately.

6.5 pounds would be nice
3.5 inch chamber is nice for guys like me that use guns for more than the uplands
cheaper than I'd have expected but still more than I'd pay.

I will say when I handled one at Cabelas in Rogers, it felt light, but well balanced. Very easy pointing shotgun IMO. I'm still learning about the details of this new gun Such as the addition of Kick-off and 3.5" capability. Felt recoil shouldn't be an issue at all with this one. It would seem that Beretta is combining some of the best traits of the Urika line and the Xtrema line in a one gun does-it-all. Definitely a drool factor of 10 if your a Beretta fan.

Unfortunately, I just bought a Urika 2 last year, so I need another $1500 shotgun like I need a hole in the head.:(

Couldn't tell ya. Never handled either one of those. Weight wise, I would put it just by feel at close to my Urika 2 which listed at 6.75lbs. The weight is really well distributed front/back in the 28" I handled. "Quick pointing" is the word I would give it.

This gun is supposed to be easier to clean and field strip then the Urika 2. Or a little less complicated. I can't vouch for this as I didn't take it down, but if it is as easy as the Xtrema than that will be a big plus.

Here's the official website if you want all the details. http://www.a400xplor.com/
