Benelli M2 - SOLD

Are you in MN? Not sure I can ship out of state and be legal...
Yes you can -- private sale just has to hit an FFL on one side of the deal or other -- typical thing to do if you have a buyer out of state is they find their own FFL and you ship the gun there.

Rules on how to ship the gun are different depending on if it's a long gun or pistol -- shotgun would be long gun so you can ship ups/fedex/postal service via ground and not have to do air service.

Thanks for the info - most appreciated. Of the shippers listed, which one is the cheapest? Would assume US Postal Service....

A private individual can no longer ship a gun by UPS or FED-EX. Your only option is USPS.
You should probably Google shipping a firearm or look at a site that gives you accurate information, there are some pretty stiff fines for violating gun laws.

A.Medic - thanks for the update. You're right, postal service only! Some of the sites I visited are not up to date...

It's been a minute since I sold one of my guns online - but I should have given the disclaimer about checking current regs --

Wasn't aware of the USPS only -- that's kind of BS -- they can't deliver crap if their life depends on it and ironically a lot of things that USPS delivers the last mile Fed Ex and UPS are involved in getting it moved. (I see Fed Ex and UPS at our small little local post office all the time dropping off truckloads of stuff for the postal carriers to finish delivering all the while claiming it went through USPS. Strange.

Some links for anyone that may wonder across this thread in the future

It appears UPS will ship long guns or pistols potentially by a private individual. I'm not sure how to interpret their policy and would probably require a call to their customer service which someone else could do -- but if you read the links below - (specifically the gunbroker one) - they seem to allow it to have an option outside of USPS.

I wonder when Fed Ex changed their corporate policy to only allow firearm shipments from FFL's essentially -- it seems like not that long ago I was into buying/selling and had sold some stuff online and shipped it using them - but it could have been 15-20 yrs at this point so I guess a lot has changed. It's dumb a private individual can not ship via Fed Ex provided you follow the regulations of going to an FFL on one end or the other -- that used to be the reg for long guns. Slightly different rules for shipping a pistol.

(IF you review the ATF links and specifically the Gunbroker link -- it is still allowed to ship a gun via "common contract carrier" -- so I'd assume Fed Ex went "woke" at some point in the past -- but I guess they are a private company so will respect that -- but do not understand it.)

Here's some links

Refer to these links, it's pretty clear.

If I sell my gun to, say Guns Intn'l and they provide the ship label and prepay - they must have some sort of arrangement/contract (cash preference) with UPS. At least that's my interpretation. As an individual, UPS wouldn't accept the gun, even if I'm shipping to a FFL dealer. I can ship the gun within my state.

UPS would according to their policies that are posted -- However I see you live in the communist republic of MN - so who knows if they have their own regs outside of the federal ones.
