Been Awhile since I've been around...

Well its been awhile since I've checked in here, had a few issues over the last couple months that came up that put my hunting time over the next few years up in the air, but I've got that all worked out. So of course I'll be out every chance I get again.

And to be honest I love seeing the fact that so many out of staters are saying they won't be making the trip to Kansas this year, and all of the in staters saying they won't be making as many trips this year. Just means more birds for me and the pups. Love the sky is falling mentality you guys all have. And guess what it is hunting, not killing so I'm sorry that the reports say you will actually have to hunt for your birds this year, its not the government so don't expect handouts in the bird fields! :D

I go for so many other reasons than just bird numbers, and I sure won't quit until they stop holding a season.

(did you really think my first post back wouldn't ruffle any feathers? Its what I do best, so flame away)

Welcome back, fellow Kansan. Have a great season and share your stories.

You no good *&$%^%#!:D Welcome back:cheers: Yes, the sky is falling and we've sold all of our guns. My bird dogs are being rented by local farmers to herd barn-cats.

Reduced pressure.....I hope there is a notable difference. Sure is nice not to see another hunter all day on those late season hunts. Lots of folks will probably be disappointed in their opening w/e trip and they probably won't make it back for the remainder of the season.

I am with spence I dont get on here as much since i started working for myself and i am glad to see that the out of staters are weening themselves of our hospitality this year all that means to me is when i do get out i wont have to dodge other peaple and their megaherd of hunters

the internet is the devil... lol If the hunting season is great the forums all talk it up to be THE BEST EVER. If its bad its GONNA BE THE WORST SEASON EVER!!!

Numbers always have and always will fluctuate. I can tell you I've never had a season where I didn't enjoy damn near every trip I went on, so to all the fairweather hunters good riddance!! :D

a succesful trip isn't or shouldn't be measured in killing limits but more on how much enjoyment you get or got out of the hunt and the peple you were with 1 bird or 100 birds doesn't matter to me

Wierd that you say you feel that way... Seems everytime we hunt, you are always crying on the way home about how I shot more birds than you, I mean really crying. Like 4 year old tantrum style.

i'm crying over how your dog manhandles mine and scares them for life out of the 2 times we hunted last year i think i am the 1 with the most kills :D

all I have to Say is Fencerow. And Pretty sure the Spencer Family put the rest of you guys to shame that last weekend, along with me showing up the day prior with a full tailgate! haha

But on the other hand that Shine is worth a truckload.

Before the intarwarP nobody really knew what the bird numbers were and they still went to SD and KS and still killed birds

The net stinks sometimes
Good luck and welcome back!

fencerow i don't remember a fencerow as a matter of fact i don't remember you shooting a shell and yes your dad sure is holding up the spencer name good to have you back on the grid  and as for the shine unfortunately that ran out and i have yet to find a place to get anymore but am still looking just for you
