Hunted Friday Saturday and Sunday near De Smet...could have done better..land we leased was also leased to a local deer hunter so there was some conflict there..we weren't charged but were basically stuck with nowhere to hunt.
Hunted public areas and there were just way overhunted and were hardly any roosters there...plenty of hens though.
very hard to get on any private land during deer season ( i guess that is our fault)
finally got on some private land and had much more luck..all of the locals we talked to at the hotel and the bars said bird numbers are way down and the DNR report was not accurate.
would have been good to know before hand.
