ASTRO Miles

I just picked up a garmin Astro and used it for the first time out this year and I was surprised at the distance the dogs are putting on. We only went out for 3 hours looking for grouse. I hiked 4 miles and 1500ft of elevation gain. My weim. 13 miles and 4500ft of elevation

If you have an astro how many miles are your dogs doing in a day on pheasants? Just wondering what to expect when we hit pheasants all day this fall. Just confirms what athletes hunting dogs are

if you hiked 4 miles and your dog went 13- that's a pretty good situation

I think I walked 3 and mine went 28 miles- I do a lot of standing and wondering where they'll point something- but I can't walk so good anymore-
I sometimes stand in one place for 15 min- the Britt's just go

ahhh- bird dogs that can get it done without the fella hacking

WOW, never had the desire to have a GPS but never thought about that capability. I might have to think about getting one. I've always wondered on those days where I log 6-8 miles how many the dogs run. Now I could find out, eh?

I've got 4 of them- you care to go out hunting- I'll put one of mine on your dog-- it is interesting- then you have to think about

we are out there for 6 hours- how far and how fast and how many times on point- and on point for how long

totally different perspective- how many miles covered- how many points- for how long- and average speed-

Garmin tells all
