Any word from the great bend/russell area??

KB.

Was your "Good. Good." answers to the questions posed above? Or just a general life is good type of good? :) I have selfish reasons for asking, mainly because we hunt opening weekend just west of GB.

Sorry Cheesy, I was at work and wasn't in the best mood so I didn't take the time to elaborate. WTH my posts are normally too long anyway so there's an example of me being concise.

Yes, the birds are pretty good there. There will be more young birds than last year when you take to the field. It isn't what it was 3-5 years ago IMO, but still an improvement over last season. The crops......I should've said excellent. They're coming out quick. I'd be surprised to see more than 10% of the milo fields in that area standing on the opener. The only reason I say 10% is b/c some folks are just always behind. I'd say things are looking darn good in comparison to last year at this time:cheers:

Oh yeah....Cheesy, do you have an opening where you're at? Need a good mechanic that has seen manufacturing from the bottom up?

the farmer i hunt on out north of Russell says the birds look pretty good, quite a few prairie chickens as well. crops are being cut, but not at a break neck pace, but since pheasant season does not start until Nov. 13th, there should obviously be more out by then, barring any prolonged rainy spells.
