Guys getting deep into August. Anyone got any info for the Southwest portion of ND?I am out there every fall but haven’t heard much about our birds as of late.
Good morning folks. I saw where the crowing counts were the highest in the southwest since 2016. A rancher friend of mine said things were looking real good. Does anyone have any information about the hatch? It would be interesting to hear thank you all for any infomation
Haven't been down there. Been a fairly wet summer, which should be good but there were probably some areas where thunderstorms had a negative affect as there were several rounds of fairly severe weather. Brood surveys from the game and fish should be out in a couple weeks.
It's lousy with pheasants & huns around my place this year. I drive 16 miles to work on gravel/scoria roads just as it's getting light, and every morning this summer it's an upland bird slalom course. I'm really looking forward to getting into the huns on & around my place when the season opens in a couple weeks. The Wrecking Crew flushes a covey of huns almost every day when we walk the 1/4 mile to the mailbox. Where I live really isn't grouse country but there are enough in pockets of the right cover to make it worth a walk.
