Absolutely true. Beef stew does the same thing. Must be the mouldering juices breaking down and comingling. One of the mysteries of life! Who is it BASF, the people don't make a named product, but they make all products better? In France they make a stew pot and throw stuff in as the weeks progress, the chicken and potatos may have been warming on the pot 5 weeks ago, the lamb and carrots went in yesterday! get a little of this and a little of that!
 
Thanks for reminding about chili and it getting better with age. Made some last night from scratch and will eat the first bowl today. :cheers:
 
Have some in a cast iron pot on the wood stove right now cooking away. Put some rabbit in it to keep it going for another couple of days. Oldandnew I have had some of that stew you are talking about. I was in France visiting relatives and was at a farm that was butchering some steers and pigs and had a big kettle of it going.
