I've decided to take as many days off as possible during this hunting season and so far I'm happy to have done so. Went for a quail hunt back home (E/C KS) and hunted 3 draws. Found a covey in each of the draws and took 2 birds out of each one. Tried to take a couple more, but shooting in the trees/heavy brush is difficult to say the least.
The highlight of the day was getting a double and having each of my male dogs pick a bird up and bring them back to my right and left hands....almost simultaneously. This made for birds 5 and 6 on the day and we called it quits. It was pretty dry out there but we had plenty of good points. My son got a picture of a wad coming out of Bret's gun and hopefully the bird he was shooting at. I'll find out when I upload the pics to the puter....after some college football.
