Morning all. I'm a newby to the forum and like most of the real hunters, enjoy reading the interactions and discussions with fellow hunters. Been hunting birds for many years (really love the dog work), visited SD a number of years ago and am now planning a return trip this fall with one of my younger brothers. Really, really looking forward to it. While for the most part we're pretty self-sufficient, we're looking for help on lodging in or around the Aberdeen area. Last time I went we stayed in Chamberlain. We're planning on combining duck hunting to the trip since we were able to draw licenses. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance.

Welcome Mike, Hope you continue to use the forum. There are some good guys on the forum from S.D. that have a lot of info and I am sure will help you out. What dogs are you running? Should have a good waterfowl trip as well.

Thanks for the welcome. I hope someone can come through. My brother's got 2 rescued GSP's and I've got a 13yo GWP, who's been a hunting machine for years, another rescued GWP and a new Pudel Pointer looking at her first trip to SD. I probably won't bring the older Wirehair, since it's getting a little tougher for her to recover after hunts but she'll get some work locally this fall.

Welcome to UPH, We have a good group here come by often and enjoy..........Bob

welcome Mike to the forum. As stated got a great bunch of guys on this site. best of luck on your sd trip.:)

I am from Indiana and honestly don't know much about waterfowling but I have been to SD a number of times.
Watertown, SD is a nice small town with a bunch of hotels and is where I stay when I go. There is a ton of lakes around and I am always amazed at the amount of waterfowl. You might check into it.

I always stay in the Super 8 Watertown. Its a nice little hotel. They have a 2 room suite so you can stretch your legs after a long days hunt. You have to eat at the Grainery by I-29 if you go its yummy!

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the site.

Guys, thanks for the well wishes. I'm looking forward to future discussions as the seasons approach. I've lined up a house near Clark and it sounds like a good deal. MY ugly dogs (2 wirehairs and a pudelpointer) will have a blast.

Nice! Clark is a neat little town. That area is a bit different from Chamberlain. You are gonna have a great time!
