Jim and I snuck away again and met up with a friend to chase some birds.
The roosters were running pretty good and leaving their lady friends in the grass for the dogs to point. There were plenty of hen contacts for my youngster and a few nice rooster points form the A team.
Definitely need to improve on the shooting, But I guess it will keep the population up
But I did get this cool video of a tight sitting rooster and one I did tickle. He went down and Max over ran him. but doubled back, had the track and located the bird.Change the quality to 1080 when you click on it.

Then here are a few spliced together bits from the day. I didnt know my camera was angled so low.....really bummed me out.
I get flack from some because I stop and take pictures of the dogs and dont get on the bird right away. But what they dont understand is that in my world the picture and experience mean more to me then the bird in the bag. The bird is a plus.
In this clip you will see my young dog locked up and relocate a hen. She does end up flushing it, but she will learn. She is gaining everyday.
Oh, and in one clip it looks like Max is roughing the bird up, but the bird was buried and moving under the grass.

Then just some randoms.
Max and Baja
This is the picture you saw me taking in the first video. Someone once told me that if you cant take a picture of the dog on point, then he doesnt deserve the bird........or something like that.
