AL 48

Bought one last Sunday when my buddy opened his mouth about selling it, I’ll carry it in the field tomorrow and report back as to how I like it. It’s a 20ga with a IC barrel. I didn’t know till I got it home the barrel shucks just like a A5, being a browning guy I’m pretty stoked about it!

My son has a newer 48 AL. He loves it and I carry it on occasion too since it's so light. I found a pretty good pheasant reload for it too that works well. A great gun to carry.

It's basically an auto 5 copy. Keep the mag tube lightly oiled and it'll work great. Remington made a 48 as well after the Browning patent expired.

The Franchi AL48 is a great shotgun. I’ve used one during various times in my life and loved them because they were so light. My first one was a 12 ga with the barrel cut to 24”. I killed a lot of quail with that shotgun!
I really screwed up when they discontinued them, the Scheel's store had both the 20 and 28 ga at $450 and $550. I didn’t buy them and when I went back they were gone.
The only thing that I don’t like is sticking my finger in the loading port to unload them.

Just a bit of advice, they arent sporting clays or a really good dove shooting gun. You will be brused after a 50 or more round shoot. Love them for game but not a bunch of shooting at once.
