A Surplus of Birds!

Guys, we are very fortunate and lucky to have a Game Commission that flat out gets it! This is a very special time of year and they continue to keep the small game hunting tradition alive and well in Pa.! With guys like Mr. Jay Delaney speaking for us we are in good hands, heck these guys are bird dog people too and get just as excited as the rest of us. Thank You!

That IS good news! You're right about the GC getting it, and we are lucky. I am now trying to decide on what kind of bird dog pup to get because of it. Thank you PGC!:10sign:

You are definitely right about them getting it. Their dedication to upland hunting caused me to buy a lab pup so I could enjoy a few more good years hunting with my old man.

Although I won't be able to hunt with her this year, here is a picture of her last week at 17 wks working on water retrieves for waterfowl hunting.

steelbull,

Post like yours and seeing all the guys/gals afield keeps reminding me that we are lucky indeed to have a Game Commission that "gets it"!

That's a fine looking pup! Name? He has that look.

Today I had two guys out for some pheasant hunting and for one of them it was his first time hunting in PA. He thought the gamelands in Adams county were great and thought that it was wonderful that pheasants get stocked. He thought I was very lucky to live so close to such a great area. And I agree!

Thanks FLDBRED! I can't wait to get her out. Her name is Sadie. She has made the training easier than I anticipated so far. I have never seen a dog with the instincts and desire to work like she does. The breeder I got her from knew what they were doing when they paired this sire/dam.

Thats excellent news! More birds = more time out in the field chasing them!
