2nd and Final Trip SD

Just wrapped up my 2nd trip to South Dakota of the 2018-19 pheasant season. Myself and one friend stayed 4 days and had a blast. We hunted hard to get birds, but we are headed home with 24 pheasant and some sore legs and hips. This trip we found almost all the birds in the cattails, hence the sore legs. I’ve had a great season, but my dog has done even better. Ripley has really started to become a solid pointer and has found 97% of the pheasant shot this year.

Sounds like a great trip, cattails are tough on man and dog then add snow......but you have to work the habitat the birds are in.

Hopefully this works. I’m not very good about taking photos during the hunt, but I try to get something with Ripley and the birds whenever I can.

Great pics, sounds like a great way to wrap up the season. Sore legs never hurt as bad when you have birds in the cooler.
