Without getting the hevi shot spokes people on here has anyone used this stuff on pheasants out of their pea shooter? I've used rio bismuth with great success but it's kind of hard to find (ordered 2 boxes of 7s today). I've been thinking about giving the hevi shot a try since pheasant hunting out here isn't a target rich environment it shouldn't break the bank. So anyone use it? Classic doubles or the waterfowl/ upland load?

I shot my limit of honkers ( 6birds ) with it in my 20 ga from distances from 15 yds to 56 paces .

I have taken mallards and pheasant with an ounce of # 6 , when you put it on the front end of'em the fold like a cheap lawn chair .

That's what I figured, thanks for the info. I ordered 2 boxes of the duck load for my 28ga and a box of classic doubles for grandpa's old 12ga, full choked Wingmaster.

I have also been blown away how effective the Hevi Shot is.
They cost a little more but they are definitely worth it

I've used Nice shot in my 28 doubles. It works well, but there's nothing inexpensive about it. That being said, with the dearth of wild birds around here, I don't need to buy a lot of it.

Paying a little more is much easier than finding the words sometimes
