2025/2026 Pheasant Hunting Videos

Good job on not shooting any young birds. I know what you're saying about having two dogs and I have a 12-year-old yellow lab now, but she still wants to go, so I take her. Her. Just follows behind me. She will retrieve a bird, I just can't leave her in the truck. I owe it to my older dog. Keep letting her out it just I just have to go a lot slower.

I know a lot of folks here watch the videos direct from YouTube, I thought I'd create a spot for members to post up their hunts. This one was from Saturday/Sunday of the resident opener here in South Dakota.

I look forward to adding to this thread every year and watching everyone’s dogs progress. I can’t wait to see Nila turn into a retrieving machine by the end of the year. I do get a laugh out of hearing the frustration when she doesn’t, we’ve all been there (or at least I have with Larry), and like that you don’t cut parts like that out of the video. It’s fun to look back and see the progression of my own dogs.

I'm glad golden hour didn't have to make the trip to Northern Saskatchewan.

Honestly, I'm surprised he laid off. He's got his own pheasant god right there in Tinkertown. He can just run right over there, make an atonement, & continue his search for more young roosters.

Great job, Nila!
