Today the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of Pheasants Forever held its 2nd annual Veterans Hunt at Mason Dixon Hunting Farm in Glen Rock, Pa. We had 4 hunters take part in the hunt. One hunter served in the Marines and was in Viet Nam. His two sons served in the Navy. One served in the mid 80's and the other one is still active. The fourth hunter is currently active in the Air Force. Two hunters have hunted pheasants before but it has been a while. The two other hunters have never hunted pheasants before. The weather was great and the dogs worked hard. All the hunters were thankful for the opportunity and enjoyed themselves very much. Here are some pics:

When we were finished for the day I couldn't find Blitz. I blew the whistle for him but he wouldn't come. Turned out he was on point in the switch grass on a hen. It was a good way to end the day. We also pushed out a big doe and a fox on the day.
