I was able to help out with todays flushing survey and the magic number for the farm I was on was 9. Our final count was 9 roosters, 9 hens and 9 short eared owls. We also saw a huge flock of snow geese. I was able to get some pictures but I'll have to put them up later.

I've been waiting for your report. Did you survey the PP+L property? Any results on the other groups? Did the property you surveyed receive any birds initially?
It's killing me not being able to attend!

We surveyed a private farm that got some birds at one point in time. I'm not sure how the other groups did. I'm working on getting some pictures to post. I think I got some good ones.

Here are some different pictures I was able to take during the day:

You got some good ones alright! That article Lynn posted is awesome, it's been a long time coming.

How did your boys work with the other dogs?

Great to see pictures of born and raised Pa WILD pheasants! Thank You.

Nittany and Blitz were fine with the other dogs and there were not any dog related issues today. It was a good day to be out.

Good and close in the 4th pic down! Nice rooster:cheers:

Nice pics. Looks like some decent pheasant ground. Good grassland, looks like You had a heavy/wet snowfall, still will make for some good nesting cover.

Turbotville Area History:

A total of 839 wild pheasants were released in the Turbotville Area 2007, 2008 and 2009(PPL land only). The farms we surveyed on Sunday Feb 24 received birds in 2007 and 2008 or 2009 (PPL land). It has been 4-5 years since the last release on these farms.

That's almost 300 birds out of two fields during these surveys. I just wish the other fields were up to speed. Still overall pretty good results.
