i hunted South Central game lands for 5 days. Had very quick limits 2 days and a lot of walking and no birds 2 days and one bird the last day. No crowds until THursday when stocking occured. Amazing how everyone knew when the stocking would occur. All in all a good trip.

Downside: I've never experienced such an infestation of ticks. My springers were covered. I picked over a hundred of the two dogs. How do you deal with this?
 
That's pretty good hunting for the first time to a new area. It will only get better once you know where the area. Glad to hear that you had a good hunt, almost every one Ive talked to has had a good season so far! Any pictures?


Some areas are worse for ticks than others! On my Springer I use Frontline and large flea/tick collar. I only put the collar on when we hunt and I get an extra large one and don't cut it. It hangs down between his two front legs and under his chest. I've only had a couple of ticks all year
