10-25-2014 Opening Day Hunt

Yes . . . lots of corn is still in, and it's warm/hot, but some birds are to be had.

My buddy and I saw decent numbers, mostly singles, and mostly YOUNG birds (some hadn't fully molted and could barely fly). We essentially hunted one field, getting 5, and then pushed an edge of another to bag our 6th.

Shot 3-3, but all were close range so any fool could have connected.

My buddy bagged his 3 too.

Surprisingly, we saw very few hunters. Central to NW Central Iowa.

Nate - Great to see you and Gunner out and about again! And, it looks like another nice hunt for you. I have been meaning to drop you a note. As my name indicated and I think you knew, Iowa has always been where my heart is. Well, I finally did something about it. The wife and I made the move about 2weeks ago. I am officially an Iowan!!
