Any advice for a newbie ruffy hunter? I'll be Up North on the opener on an unrelated matter and will have approximately 1/2 day to break free. Can I expect swarms of people in the state forests around Park Rapids ala public land for pheasant hunting?

Anybody look at this forum? I've got some connections in the Malta area and was considering a hunt. Pheasants, Huns, sharpies, you name it, I'll chase it. Also wonder whether there are any prairie dogs in the area and if October is a possible time to hunt them?
