    Heading back out on Wednesday

    Just got a call from one of my friends in NW Kansas. He just finished cutting his last 30 acres of irrigated corn and wanted me to know he saw quite a few pheasants. Did pretty well hunting around his place opening weekend, heading back out this week from here in Colorado to give it another go...

    Heading out tomorrow for the last hunt of the season

    Heading out to Phillips County to end the season. By all accounts it's been a great season and I hope to end it with a few more birds in the bag. I'm hunting this season with a new dog and two new titanium knee replacements and it's been awesome....no knee pain and I can keep up with the pup...

    Good news from Kansas

    I heard from one of my farmer friends in Kansas yesterday. He is in the process of harvesting his milo and said that "He can't remember when he's seen so many pheasants." Heading out his way the second week of the season. Can't wait to get there!

    Does blaze orange scare late season pheasants?

    In my opinion the answer is yes. In the states I hunt orange is not required, and I have found that as the season progresses the birds seem to learn that orange means hunters. I use the stealth approach as much as possible and try to be as unobtrusive and quiet as possible and it works for me...

    New Member Intro

    I am a new member from Colorado. I hunt in CO, KS and occasionally SD. Flushing dogs, especially labs and springers are my favorites, but I still love to hunt over a good pointer. My favorite shotguns are doubles...sxs or o/u. Upland Hunter
