    My Pheasant Hunting Farewell

69 years... what a run. Do you have anything specific that really jumps out as memories you never want to forget? Special hunts, dogs, different states etc ?

    Wet Crispi Boots

If youre young , strong and in shape they might be ok for hunting chuks. Even Crispi says they arent the ideal sidehill chuk boot. Not intended to be. They really are right in the middle for stiffness. Not to stiff while still offering some moderate support. I still love them. Very lightweight too.

How far do you let your dogs go?

I assume this question is really for the pointy dog guys. I hunt w a Springer and Golden so range isnt an issue.

    Sportdog vs garmin

I just purchased a factory refurb 550+ and am looking for a sale on a tt25 if anyone sees one... Ive never run a gps unit in the past but have a 10 y/o Springer whose hearing is starting to fail so the peace of mind will be worth the hefty price tag. I dont want her going the wrong direction in...

    Golden retriever

Yes, Im on my 4th. Theyre the best all around package. Great noses, finding cripples, running birds, and they do it all with a smile on their face. Jaxson is from Nelson Kennels in MN.

    Wet Crispi Boots

see my post above. I have zero complaints so far. Doubt I will. They did run a tad small on me. I usually wear an 11 but these are perfect at an 11.5. YMMV

    ISO dog boot recommendations

1000 denier boots from dog booties should do the trick. I was exposed to those ground level cactus in MT last year. Didnt know they existed. Agry lil ba$tards.

    Small game knives

I find those Havalon knives difficult and therefore dangerous to change blades. Maybe its becuase I have short nails so its harder to pull up the blade release or something. I wish I liked them more. They make a lot of sense

what areas do you look for on the map when deciding to hunt upland birds

Yes those areas should/could/might hold birds but boots on the ground is the best not Copilot. Ive been learning MT for 20 years.

    Ear yeast infection.

My 2 seem to get an ear infection every summer . Just took Annie my Springer to the vet yesterday. They put a oti-pack in each ear and it clears right up. I dont know if theres really a preventative. So humid here. Warning- the oti pack makes them deaf for about a week. Its a waxy plug thats...

Cooking Own Meals at the Motel

We’ve had good intentions of cooking meals the past couple of years staying at a vrbo. Reality set in after we got back. Everyone was too tired and we still ended up going out to eat every night. We did have some great field lunches though. I love setting those up out in the middle of no where...
