I ice fish and try not judge others for chasing their passions. They would think bird hunters, waterfowlers are crazy as well. I guess everyones entitled to their opinions though. Ice fishing in 4ft of water isnt very life threatening.. just one scenario

Orvis has several softshell 1/4 zip pull overs that shed water. My son just bought one and its a cut above the one I have. Well worth the few extra $$$

Man if I was ready to give up at my lack of birds bagged I wouldve quit this madness 2 decades ago. I suck at this. I think you and I could share a field and have a good time doing it. Especially given your choice in dogs! Dogs dont judge us thankfully.
