Gotta find the right mix of cover and burn some boot leather and you'll find birds.

Agreed, sometimes you just have to cut the hair.

I bring along a fork. I can work the cockle burrs out of my Cockers pretty easily with it.

Slumps are normal. I had a terrible year a couple years ago. I think I hit about 25% for the season. Just keep shooting. I've also found practicing mounting and swinging and dry firing with snap caps a few times every day helps. Good luck.

Got a grouse today in Lincoln County. Put up five grouse and a couple woodcock. Beautiful day!

Must've been two in Lincoln County...I was on private land. Apparently I'm not the only one crazy enough to camp in late October in Wisconsin.

Didn't get out pheasant hunting because I was grouse hunting in Lincoln County. Here's some pictures of the camp. We got 3 grouse and flushed about 25. Great hunt! Lee

Here's one from last year. Numerous hen flushes as well. From somewhere in the southern third of the state. They are out there. If you can't believe it then we'll have to agree to disagree. Have a good day, good luck and be safe.

I think it's worth it. It's nice to know the boundaries of public properties. Also can do some pretty good preliminary scouting with it. I was able to find a couple pretty good quail spots in Nebraska with it.
