In the third post of this topic I said I wasn't going to bite but after 10 pages.......... I have a Lab and we just got a new puppy, also a Lab. I previously had a Lab. I like Labs. I've never had a Pointer, never considered it and never hunted with one. Maybe i don't know what I'm missing...

Annie, my pup (14 weeks) followed our 3 year old into the water on her first exposure. Stared out with shallow retrieves and gradually went deeper. Once she got to where she realized there was no bottom she turned around shoirt of the dummy. We did some more shallow stuff and she enjoyed it...

Last season we drove by a small private field, maybe the size of 2 football fields. There must have been 10+ guys, some along the road edge, some along the tree line and some blocking at the end. Three dogs and a few guys forming a "skirmish line" in the middle at the other end All dressed...

I am thinking that PF could simply ask Members for photographs of wild Pheasants they may have and permission to use it in their ads? Maybe give a shout out and free hat if it's used?

Our new Lab pup is 14 weeks and we took her to a lake for her first water outing. She did really well, no doubt having a big brother to show her the ropes. In the last clip I think she realized she was swimming and was not to sure anymore :) A short video is on youtube here:

I've tried to get to two preserves with the dog here in SW Utah but they all want groups, not one guy and a dog. I friend and i found a Pheasant breeder and bought some to work the dogs. I think last time it was $10 for hens, $15 for Roosters. I also keep wings and a whole bird in the freezer...

Annie just hit 3 months. I forgot how patient you need to be with training. Her brother Phin just told me to send her back but I think we'll keep her .

I guided for Salmon one season at a fly-in lodge Outside of Ketchikan. Fished for all the species and share your opinion about Chum and Pinks.. and Halibut and Rockfish were for when you limited out on Salmon. Days off exploring and some light tackle fishing made it an awesome experience...

Took Annie and Phin up the mountain 30 minutes away for her first taste of snow. She took to it like a duck to water. This girl is fearless!

Remy, in a few days I will become an octogenarian. But I just got a new pup and booked a VRBO for 2 weeks next season. I have some issues that come with age, but live life like tomorrow is guaranteed. I respect and share your philosophy.

As a older person I never leave home without it. It can also be used to summon help for someone else if the situation arises. My daughter is suggesting I get the Search and Rescue Insurance from Garmin for $39/year. Might not bad idea.
