Final Rise, Chief Upland, Marsupial, Q5

May want to check out the orvis vest, a little cheaper but has many of the features of the others. I have had mine for two years and enjoy it

    Kansas Hunt

What part of the state were you hunting? Sounds like you were in them thick compared to others here. I will be heading out 2nd week of January, looking forward to it

    New strap vest

I have the orvis and the tenzig, both work well, prefer the orvis (water bottle holders and not as warm)

    Cutting costs this year?

I will hopefully be getting a cheap pop up camper to cut AirBnB/hotel costs (plus the dogs can sleep inside as well). Also hunting states that have a year long license helps cut down costs

    Leaving Dogs In Vehicle

In the heat: Crack the windows Battery powered fans are great, especially if you can set them up to where they blow cold air (from a frozen water jug) over the dog (think of a dog a/c) Fresh water in the crate Park in shade (those reflective shade things you put in your windows help, or have...

I noticed the same thing, had the dog on a tie out and had an eye on him, and collar went off

    Garmin Sport Pro

I have used mine for 4 years almost everyday. Super easy to charge, holds a long charge, love the bark collar and light features. I have had issues with stimulation not working/delayed, as well as the bark collar going off at random times and zapping the dog.

When do we start the push for change?

We hunted 2 /2 days, 4 spots per day, moved 3 coveys, killed one quail. Averaged 15 miles per day, per day (2 dogs). Hunted all walk in

When do we start the push for change?

I still had a great time though, will be back. I can't imagine how hard it would be to monitor all those WIHA properties to make sure they are staying compliant etc. Fingers crossed for more rain this spring/summer

When do we start the push for change?

I was surprised at the state of WIHA as a first time Kansas hunters. Multiple properties had bulldozers in destroying fence lines, properties that were 95% wheat with once fence row which was a deep ravine, one property still had cows on it, and one property the farmer had cows on, cut the...

    Off season food advice

I feed the same year round, just so I dont have to worry about transitioning on/off food. Realistically if I would change anything, I would change the amount

    New Mexico quail tour!

You ran into a porcupine in NM? Never would have guessed they would have been that far south. Sounds like a great trip!

Switching dog food because of price and availability?!

When you are comparing diamond to brands like Purina/Joy/Victor which have never had recalls (to my knowledge at least), that will make some nervous. I know many people that feed diamond with no issues, just didn't sit right with me

Switching dog food because of price and availability?!

I also switched from PPP, mainly due to cost. I switched to Victor Hi Pro Plus. Locally it is a little cheaper, my dogs coats and stool got quite a bit better. I buy 3-4 bags at a time, so I hit up one or two local feed stores and can get enough to last for a couple of months. I was considering...

    Alpha 10 handheld

I personally like running two collars on a dog, in case one acts up/dies. Gotta have a long neck though :)

    Upland Institute

$450 good lord. I like ron, but that is steep. Not sure if it helps at all, but Standing Stone Kennels has a patreon where you can ask them questions, send them videos etc and they assist you virtually. Perfect Start/Perfect Finish is what I used, alot cheaper than 450
