I use the phone to track, but honestly look at it very little, so this set up works for me. My other Dogtra collar I use at the same time is for correction and a beeper (pointer). I view the GPS collar as “insurance” against loosing him.

I used to use one of those bike attachments to get my dog in shape. Works well, especially for younger dogs. For older dogs I found I needed to pay close attention to how they were doing, as their natural gait is not to run at one constant speed for long distances. Enjoy!

Greg We had almost identical results as you did. Coveys held good, but saw a number of singles (adults) that flushed wild.

Was on a walk with dog in northern MN last weekend and saw two. Positive outlook: saw two on a short walk. Negative outlook: just one chick in the “brood”.

SW Minnesota had extreme rains during peak of hatch.

Where is Moose River? What species of grouse in that area?

Or more to the point, how were the sharpie and pheasant hatches?

And you can certainly find all 3 species east and north of the MO.

Bob, I admire your optimism, but in this case I am skeptical. I agree the flooding is likely only a localized problem, and the grasslands are thick and full of bugs. But I am quite concerned the cool and very wet weather during the peak of the hatch will result in poor production. I am rooting...

Both are issues. This doesn’t have to be a “one over the other “.

I have used a pump gun for years and for me it is what I’m used to and works well.

I have an English Setter and have had good luck with Dogtra. Use a combination beeper and e-collar.

Don’t see how this relates to someone shooting a 14 month old untrained dog?

With all due respect, to me this is not a political issue. But rather an issue of animal cruelty and lack of understanding on how to train a dog.

Interesting how a Minnesota dog trainer gets arrested for killing a hard-to-train dog, but a Governor does essentially the same thing with no repercussions.
